DEAM relies on contributions of non-perishable food and basic health supplies. DEAM buys many canned goods from Atlanta Food Bank at pennies on the dollar, but the following goods are always in short supply.
Right now we especially need: small corn muffin mix boxes, rice (1-lb pkgs), dry milk (1-qt pkgs), rice (1-lb. pkgs), pasta sauce, bar soap & toilet tissue.

How DEAM Donations Fight Hunger and Homelessness

DEAM donations fund food and financial contributions directly to Decatur-area residents to prevent homelessness and hunger.

$1 – will buy 6 cans soup and vegetables, enough to feed 1 hungry senior citizen for 1.5 days

$5 – will buy peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, milk and vegetables, enough to feed 1 mother and child for 3 days

$10 – will pay for 35 new clothes items, including shorts, tops, sweaters and coats for children and adults (Donated by manufacturers; DEAM pays shipping cost only)

$15 – will provide complete meals and basic toiletries for family of 4 for 3-4 days

$25 – will pay for 3 months prescriptions for critical conditions such as diabetes, heart conditions and asthma

$75 – will pay a past-due gas or electric bill, so a family does not have heat cut off this winter

$100-$200 – will prevent eviction to keep a family in their home and off the street
